we survived rent the runway

the rent the runway experience was pretty painless, if you don't include the spanx. or heels. BUT neither the spanx nor the shoes were anyone's fault but my own.

the dress arrived, as promised, on wednesday, in a box that could have easily fit my child. beyond the dress, i also received a garment bag and a few trial-sized toiletries. these items did not need to be returned via pre-stamped ups envelope by saturday at noon. they were mine forever and ever.

the quality of the dress was comparable to your best friend's wardrobe. if your best friend meticulously dry cleans her clothes and happens to be the same dress size as you. but your best friend is also a bit of a bitch, because she will charge you 200 percent of the retail cost if you seriously damage her dress. minor wear and tear is acceptable. whatever that means.

overall, it was simultaneously fun and scary to wear something i could never afford that along with the aforementioned spanx held in all my extra lovin. and i didn't even get sentimentally attached. i mailed it back and happily put on my f21 dress that i could wear while hugging my watermelon-stained child.
