if you think you have a chocolate problem then these are for you.
ms.bakerella is the queen of the cake balls.
i am queen to being late to the party.

still, it just doesn't matter.
because the genius and deliciousness of this recipe has masked any embarrassment i may have felt with pure unadulterated joy of this triple chocolate threat.
if you're like me, and new to the party, do not hesitate any longer.
these are like the poor man's chocolate truffle.
go spend $5 at the grocery store and get to work
behold the three distinct layers of chocolate.
one and two:
and three:
highlighted with intense, dark, full-bodied coffee to accentuate the chocolate to a higher level.
and of course garnished with red delights of your choosing.
Recipe: Triple Chocolate Cake Balls
Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 can chocolate frosting
1 bag semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups coffee
sprinkles of your choice
Method:
-make cake according to directions (the only enhancement i did was substituting the water for coffee)
in a word: genius.
-after cake bakes, let cool completely
-mix cake and frosting together with a hand-held mixer for at least 2 minutes
-refrigerate in a bowl overnight, covered in plastic
-in the morning, roll cake dough into balls, place on parchment
-put cake balls in the freezer for 1 hour
-melt semisweet chips on low heat
-place a cake ball on a fork and dip into chocolate
-place back on parchment and decorate immeaditely for chocoalte will harden quickly
-put covered cake balls back in the fridge for at least an hour
-enjoy and start day dreaming other cake ball recipes fantasies
