wedding guest attire

we've been invited to four weddings this year, doesn't that seem like a lot considering nelson and i are super old? don't get me wrong, there is nothing like a wedding -- celebrating the love of people who are in love, dancing, CAKE and of course, an excuse to get all fancy pants. i've been thinking about these weddings for awhile and i had pretty much planned on wearing dresses i already owned to most of them. the reasons being: i'm cheap and i have a lot of dresses. but for one of them i decided to try something new that is causing some stress for my marriage. it's called rent the runway. have you tried it? you can rent a high-end designer dress for about a tenth of the cost for four days. plus i have two coupons! it works like this: rent the runway mails you the dress, it arrives a day or two before your event, you wear it and send it back the next day in a prepaid envelope that rtr provides. you don't even have to dry clean it!

my reasons for stress about this dress:
the fit
the ho/chic/appropriate factor (it needs to be a little of all of these. clearly)
will i need three pairs of spanx to get it zipped?
will i end up at nordstroms rack the night before the wedding buying something i hate or something i can't afford because only then will my fate be sealed?

nelson's reasons for stress about this:
i will spill something on the dress and atticus will not be able to go to college

other category:
i need to return this dress (also bought with coupons!), i'm too old for it
i've been obsessed with this dress and may just buy it to have around as a backup

* i realize this entire post is clearly a first world problem. apologies.*
**this is not sponsored, my opinions are all my own**
