so much to say #3

1.go to dq one minute?

there are a lot of requests like this. also popular: go to the museum, go to chick fila, go to target, go to the creek, go to bluemont. the emphasis is on the one minute.

2. i don't see the coach, where are you coach?

we just finished the set of soccer classes last weekend. while atticus is no pele, by the end of the classes he did learn to follow directions, listen to the coach and interact with the other kids. sometimes. it's certainly better than the first class when after two minutes on the field, atticus threw a huge fit and we had to go to the playground. but the coach -- oh atticus just loved the coach. he followed him around on his tippy toes and got all shy when he would talk to him, it was ridiculously cute.

3. daddy going poopy

we were getting ready to go to the park the other day and per usual, atticus and i had put on our shoes and were patiently waiting on the couch for nelson. nelson had gone upstairs to "change." atticus was very quiet and then said to me very seriously, "daddy going poopy."

3. that is my hat

he loves the A hat, and frequently tells me that is my hat or that is atticus's hat.

4. atticus is so comfortable

he likes to lay on the couch with our furry blanket, and say "atticus is so comfortable."

5. listen to sam smith 

this is constant. no really. and he knows all the lyrics to three of his songs. he thinks money on my mind is really mommy on my mind. i am not going to correct him. but my favorite is when he sings "darling stay with me!"

6. i don't like this one.

atticus is very expressive lately and likes to tell us when his likes and dislikes. nelson tried to put a cover of a sam smith song and we got "i don't like this one." full of opinions i tell you!

7. no thank you, mama

i offer atticus everything we eat and encourage him to try new things. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. but no matter what, if he doesn't want to try something he says, "no thank you, mama." how could i ever be mad at that response?
