so much to say #2

1. leave it alone

atticus says this about things he knows he's not supposed to touch once i catch him touching them. ie anything and everything electronic or that could be used for impalement.

2. watch stone roses minute?

still begging to watch stone roses on the regular. and then dances around and pretends he is ian brown.

3. look alike mama

so far i look like yulia lipnitskaya and solange. i'm a little concerned atticus will have my eye sight. but hey, at least he's sweet to me.

4. time to go home

everyone has their limits and when atticus has reached his he tells us, "time to go home."

5. pretty good dinner, mama

this seems to be the standard dinner response lately and is accompanied by eating dinner at the table for five glorious minutes.

6. go to granny's office.

when i ask atticus about his day lately, he will really tell me about it. yesterday it started with, "go to granny's office," followed by, "elevator! escalators! elevator, push number 4, push number 5. goldfish! blueberries!" which is of course, exactly what he did.

7. play in the room, build a tower, slowly

we moved a number of atticus's toys to his room. it's really helped to have another place to play. there is lots of tower building in the room -- and atticus likes to tell me the shapes involved -- little rectangle, big, huge circle, little square, huge rectangle. and he always says, "slowly" when he's adding the fourth piece.

8. oh no, what happened?

still frequently said after he throws something. but also at a pivotal moment in thomas, elephants cannot dance and the like.

9. abus/granny/boompa be here soon?

we try to talk about the day as we get ready every morning. who is going to watch atticus, what they're going to do, etc. about fifteen minutes before abu, granny or boompa's arrival, there is a lot of running to the door to "check" and "abus/granny/boompa be here soon!"

10. relax, fortune, bubble bath.

the desired night time routine for all of us. with some frozen thin mints thrown in for good measure, of course.
