as previously noted, atticus is already doing very well on this whole christmas thing. i know this kid will be plenty spoiled, but i just too excited to shirk my santa duties. ups delivered two large and in charge amazon boxes yesterday and i had to restrain myself from ripping them open and handing atticus the below loot. but i reminded myself that i still need to wrap his gifts, place them under the tree on christmas morning and most importantly, write LOVE SANTA on the labels.
here this year's haul:
we've already got the letters and they're easily the best five dollars i've ever spent on this kid. this mama santa knows these will be a hit with my son who looks at a nine upside down and tells me it's a six. wait till he sees the equal sign, wowsers!
2. llama, llama time to share
last christmas atticus received llama, llama misses mama, which let's face it, was really for me. thankfully, atticus also really grew to love it too and frequently requests it before bed time. i'm hopeful this book will help us reinforce the concept of sharing which has been a little dicey lately.
3. ukelele.
for no other sane reason then it's christmas and i love this kid like bonkers.
4. playdoh
if you're going to buy the fun factory. TWICE. then you need at least ten different colors to make spagetti mama!
5. car carrier.
like every other almost two-year old boy, atticus is into his cars. although i think the main draw with this will be moving the cars up and down and connecting the hitch to the truck.wait, is it called a hitch? i need to look this stuff up.
6. the mommy book.
atticus absolutely loves the daddy book, it's so sweet to see my boys read it together. makes my mama heart melt into a puddle. but i may be just a teensy, tiny bit jealous that we don't have a mommy book. well there is one. this is probably this year's book that is really more for me.
7. super why abc letter game
beyond jeopardy, super why, is the most beloved show in the cuellar household. on this last cold spell, we watched "christmas why" three times a day. i know he is a bit young for this game but i also know he will love it because it's stamped super why, it's all about letters and there are a zillion (okay, 100) playing cards to lose, step on,
8. should i share my ice cream?
atticus loves all of the mo willems books. i am pretty smitten with them as well, particularly those with gerald, the elephant. gerald is a very sweet and kind-hearted elephant that has a tendency to get a wee bit too excited at change. and he has great glasses. and his best friend is piggie, who is the saner one of the two. they're just a great duo, we highly recommend these books.
9. stocking stuffers.
i need ideas here! i know candy, but what else? i picture myself at target on christmas eve night searching for the perfect little trinkets.
