weekend wrapup

on saturdays atticus and i have adventures.
we ALWAYS leave the house in the afternoon for a bit.
me home for more than 12 hours is a recipe for a mama meltdown.
see how scared atty is at that prospect?

the morning is for playing with resurrected toys and trying on hats.

and apparently for going through my wallet for cash.

post naptime we venture out to target.
this week my list was: chocolate chips, butter and red curry paste.

the chocolate chips were used to make another double batch of the sacred cookie.
have you made these yet? do it. NOW.

this bunny is serious about cookies.

and about posing with the creepy old navy family.
btw can you believe the little girl on the right?
seemingly cute cardigan made into a one-sleeved number?

we came home to the coolest girl scout i have ever seen.
i was a girl scout. i was so not cool.
i wore polyester green pants that i rolled because they were not tapered enough.
and scrunchies.
enough of a mental picture?
try this one.
circa 1986 i threw such a fit that my poor older sister had to roll my pants for me.
of course, this all flashed through my mind as i sheepishly bought thin mints and atty and i ruined our dinners.

but not so much that we skipped dinner.
i mean, come on.
we had thai coconut soup with tofu, basmati rice and green beans.
there is always room for that.

and extra snuggles.
there is always room for the best hugs.
