messy

i'm no neat freak. i have piles of papers and clothes following me around like linus and his dust cloud. i am not, however, dirty. and my home and my child are not dirty. nelson is similar to me; he's clean but can be into his piles of stuff. so we can be messy. but atticus? let me tell you, that BOY is MESSY. and christmas just happened. so his necessities (read: three-foot plastic dog, puzzle pieces that feel very soothing on bare feet first thing in the morning, blocks (these also feel good on your toes, like a pedicure!), two-foot remote control car, talking dog, talking bear, talking chicken head (don't ask), three-foot plastic dinosaur, 9000 books, diapers, pajamas, wipes, puffs, etc) are TAKING OVER OUR HOUSE. send me organizational ideas, prayers and booze.

  1. baskets, big baskets, or tubs. also, teach Atty the clean-up song now!! and sing it every time you pick up toys (before naps, before bath time).

also, never buy him toys because other people will :)

  2. Agreed with all the above! But also, keep half the toy containing baskets out of his reach. Every week, switch the baskets that are available to him. This results in less material to cause clutter and to him, it will be like getting new toys each week.
