1. Diane Keaton's new book: Then Again. Clearly, she's done it all (including some questionable movie choices, think Mandy Moore) but come on she's Annie Hall for Christ's sake. And she's captured the hearts of Woody Allen and Al Pacino. You know you're curious about her.
2. Moccasins. I will be Pocahontas before the year is out. These minnetonkas are my first choice:
3. MAC lipstick, either in lady danger or impassioned. I'm thinking this will be my only make up as a new mom, and then maybe no one will notice I'm still in all elastic waist clothing.
4. pumpkin spice malted milk balls. these might be pushing the pumpkin love too far right? But by Christmas I'll only have 4 weeks left till baby's arrival, so I might as well embrace the semi-gross candy.
5. new glasses. i'm actually buying these for myself with my last bit of FSA moneys. Here are the three looks I'm debating, leaning toward numero 3, thoughts? These are all from BonLook, one of those cheap and trendy glasses places that actually caters to people who are almost blind (like me). Now I just need Nelson measures the distance between my pupils. Oops, did I overshare?
6. tweed toms with yellow piping.
what can i say shoes still fit, will except the very narrow, high-heeled ones that i used to attempt to wear and spaz in most of the time. it should be hard to spaz in these and i love the unexpected burst of yellow.
7. laguiole steak knives.
we should have registered for nice knives when we got married, and now, well knives don't exactly seem appropriate for a baby registry. i got nelson a laguiole pocket knife for his birthday last year, not only did he love it and it's bumblebee emblem, but i've actually seen him use it on multiple occasions, each time exclaiming delight in it's perfection.
8. flor peeps tile.
this rug tile is so damn cute. i've been coveting it for the past year. you can buy as many squares as you want and build a rug in a size that actually works for your space. no more cramming rugs under couches for me.
9. Rockabye: From Wild to Child
I had no idea that Rebecca Woolf wrote a book before her blog, Girl's Gone Child. The story of her life during her first pregnancy, becoming a mom unexpectedly and bonding with her son while discovering her own womanhood. This woman is poetic, honest, puts her kids first and always looks chic in that i didn't try way. You want to hate her, but you just can't. I must get this book!
10. more stuff to be added soon, send me links for cute and comfortable shoes, readable books and weird candy my tummy doesn't need.
I'm down with the steak knives!!!
ReplyDeleteOh! Shawn and I discovered that you can get the Laguiole steak knives at Home Goods for $17 for a set of 6! They aren't there all the time, but if you check in every now and then you may find them. I don't imagine they are the same quality as that selling at Williams Sonoma, but we've had ours for 4 years and they still are impressively sharp!
ReplyDeleteAnd "Unknown" is Heather -- the "post as" button bested me!
