thinking about

all this mint just showed up in front of our house, who's coming over for a mojito party and this pasta ? how did my baby learn the the alphabet so suddenly? love how he says q like cue. dying. rent the runway , have you used it? father's day brunch ideas , hmmmmm a cozy rainy day nap on saturday and sunday. puh-lease. this anthro knock off is sooo good and half the price of last year's number. might go see a movie tomorrow night, any ideas? erin and i are talking about this trader joes now has cheddar horseradish chips and i may lose my mind. iced coffee addiction continues. send help. and more iced coffee.

Remember when....

There are few pictures of myself that I've never seen before. Yesterday, my mom sent me this picture of my sister and I from the early 1980s. And I can't stop looking at it. It's everything. The wood paneled station wagon that I still covet to this day. The polka dot winnie the pooh pants I wish I remembered. The knowing too mature expression on my sister's face that I swear she was born with. The littleness of me that reminds of my own sweet boys. We're sitting on a log that was in the field next to my grandparents' house. That field was our virtual playground and that log was the barrier to the parking lot for the restaurant next door. I do remember sitting on that log, running in that field, making dandelion necklaces in that field, giggling uncontrollably with my aunts and uncles in that field. I remember the stories of that field. The metal pipe on the other side of it where my Dad hit his knee playing hockey and probably broke it, but never went to the...

DONUTS!

Yes, I am sort of yelling because DONUTS! are very exciting at our house. During our weekly target trip we decided to purchase a donut pan . And then for the next 15 hours straight, both boys asked if we could make donuts. Repeatedly. I'm convinced they may have been dreaming about donuts as Atticus woke up, came in our room and before saying his usual "good morning" or just as usual "can I watch a show" he sleepily mumbled, "can we make the donuts now?" We were in pretty heavy debate (well heavy debate for 7:15 a.m. on Sunday while coffee was brewing) on the merits of cinnamon sugar vs double chocolate recipes when Sol came trotting downstairs and announced "time to make donuts with the donut pan!" One track mind let me tell you. We landed on the cinnamon sugar variety purely due to readily accessible ingredients. Also due to that this here mama is a cinnamon sugar donut fanatic. We cribbed from a couple recipes...
