travelin' 'round

the journey is really just as important as the destination.
i've traveled more with my husband than anyone else.
we're rarely in a rush to get where we're going (ok, ok this is not just restricted to traveling)
we break up car 400 mile drives by sandwiching in overnights at hampton inns with heated pools and continental breakfasts
we order key lime pie to go from hooters and eat it in bed while watching part two of pbs' american masters series on woody allen.
we listen to the most random mix of songs the ipod can give us, being treated to songs from long ago we're so glad to remember and old favorites that continue to write our story.
we stop at every rest stop along way to relieve our bladders (hey, at least i have a baby squeezing my uterus as an excuse right?).
and then arrive sleepy and dreamy to home, family and friends that could never be replaced.
and a big pot of warm applesauce that puts me right to sleep.
