best fruit salad

on sunday i was flipping around on the telly as i ate my english muffin when my favorite english muffin came on the screen.
nigella really is a lovely woman to look at and listen to, i wish i could spend time with her every morning.

especially because she may be a bit psychic.
i had planned to make a fruit salad of strawberries and blueberries to accompany the no knead bread i was bringing to brunch.
sure it was simple, but how interesting can fruit salad be?
well, nigella steps in and there you have it.
i was off to trader joes for supplies.
in my leggings, messy bun and long coat to hide my jammies of course.

i picked up a bejeweled pomegranate

and a juicy sunshiney mango

to add to the blueberries

and strawberries.

all mixed together with the juice and zest of a tart lime.

a few new ingredients made boring old fruit salad bright and refreshing.

Recipe: Best Fruit Salad

Ingredients:
1 pint blueberries
1 lb strawberries, quartered
1 mango, cubed
1 pomegranate, seeds and juice
1 lime, juice and zest

Method:
-mix all fruit with lime zest and juice
-best enjoyed after refrigerated for an hour or two to let flavors meld

p.s. since i've now eaten all this anti-oxidant healthy fruit, i think i may need to order the nutella snack and drink....

  1. That IS the perfect fruit salad! I haven't seen a pomegranate in a grocery shop since moving to Brisbane, Australia, but I'm going to keep a keen lookout! Thanks for the inspiration!
