do you look more like your mom or your dad?

 atty and nelson both at around 7 months

sometimes i think atticus is giving me major nelson looks. this very serious, contemplative and i'm-not-going-to-tell-you-what-i'm-thinking-so-figure-it-out look. oh, he's mastered that one.

but then other times i feel like i'm looking in a mirror. moodiness and cheeks for days on this boy i tell you.

i always thought i was a pretty even combination of my parents, even as a kid. i have more my mom's eyes and mouth and my dad's nose and hair. nelson resembles his dad, but definitely gets his smile and dimples from his mom.

atticus seems to have my nose, hair color (the curls are from abu) and eye shape, but nelson's eye color, mouth and definitely the dimples. until i look at pictures, i forget how much atticus has changed over the past 20 months. i can't even imagine how he'll look as a boy starting kindergarten. he already likes to pretend he's going into the school near our house, waving and screaming "bye! love you!" before trying to open the locked door. it's just about the cutest thing on the planet but it breaks my heart at the same time. i can't wait to see all the changes and at the same time i just want to hold on to today a little longer.
