summer to fall transition

even though it was a mild summer, i just can't wait for it to be fall. i'm sick to death of maxi dresses and cutoffs and would be just delighted if i never saw flip flops again. of course, i will recant all of this come may, but no matter. we live in the dc area, and just because labor day is almost here, does not mean that summer is really over. it's not quite time to break out the tights and boots yet. for absolutely no reason at all, i've been so scared to try this tie-up-the-chambray-shirt thing for the past few months. of course, i thought it looked oh-so-cute on everyone else in that i-just-threw-this-on-and-i'm-off-to-the-farmers-market way. so i tried it over my hated beloved mrs. roper maxi dress with my new bday mocs for a wine and cheese night. of course, now i think i'm obsessed with it and you'll find me tying up atty's shirt to showcase his belly before september is out.
